P38A Sunroof

1995 V8 auto 203k
Strange one
The sunroof has been working fine for ages and was smooth to operate
Suddenly yesterday dash said needs reset
No idea why
I have reset it loads of times before when it has needed it
I just dont understand why it suddenly lost reset.
It was very hot, would that make a difference?

Don't know if it's related but my driver's window has done the same in the past

Lube it, can’t have too much lube

Could be heat related, does it take the reset? Try it tonight when it cools

Don't know if it's related again, but the passenger side out station always shows in nanocom as can't communicate yet it works just fine. I put these kinds of things down to old age and/or bad connections

Seems well lubed as runs smoothly but will have a look and add grease tomorrow
I would have thought it would have stalled halfway and caused the reset but it wanted reset as soon as I pressed button

I've said it before these P38's are strange but wonderful beasts Always there to amaze us

Some grease on the tracks never 'urt anything

Mine did this ,but it was the seal round the sunroof made it sort of jam a little when it was closed for a while ,So i wet the seal with Vaseline and silicon spray seems ok now ,it was quite grubby but the Vaseline softened the dirt and it wiped of easy .... seal goes hard n stiff in hot weather.. its a kind of felt like round the outside with rubber bit on the glass

I will give it some grease and silicone spray tomorrow
Not sure I have any Vaseline but that is a good idea ta

Well what can I say but Hurrah for Vaseline

And I never found any lol
BUT
I opened the sunroof to grease it etc and it worked first time
Last night it wanted a reset and I didnt do it
And now it works fine
Arent P38s wonderful?
I greased it anyway with spray grease and siliconed the seals

I now find it funny when ppl ask why something happened on a RR..... you all know why... Land Rover made it.....
