Had a roof leak that would gradually soak the headlining around the passenger sun visor. Tracked it to sunroof. Car was at a garage to get a few other things sorted and I asked them to look in to it. They did and leak is now fixed. Was just blocked drains but they said they took out the sunroof and cleaned and greased everything and even changed the weather seal for good measure.
Now the roof won't move correctly. Press the button and the roof will slide half a centimeter and stall. Sometimes it will go 3 or 4 cm and stall. Same on the way back, same with the tilt function. You have to keep pressing the button 10 or 15 times to get the roof either fully open or closed. Obviously no way to set the anti-trap in the BECM therefore annoying beeps and sunroof warning on the dash.
With motor disconnected the glass seems to slide back and forth quite freely by hand. Should it do that? Could it a cable issue? That's what I'm guessing but I'm open to ideas. In the meanwhile if anyone has taken apart as far as the cable and has pics or drawings of how to go about it please send a pm, it will be very much appreciated! Rave doesn't seem to go in to too much detail unfortunately.
Danke!
