hi can someone tell me how to remove the shield that protects the sump on my 1.8 freelander 2004 ,

There's a range of bolts holding it on from underneath, some on the front subframe, others behind front bumper

on the subject of sump shields i've noticed there are some 2nd hand sump shields on ebay that have an alloy centre section. will these fit facelift models, as I had a costly experience when a sharp rock pierced the plastic sump shield and holed the sump- not good!

Those ones have been modified by owners, if it fit their car it should fit yours

Some models had a heat shield running down the centre, these won't protect against rocks.
