Now the weather has improved for the better, who parks up the freelander for the summer and starts using the proper car

I SORN my 1.8 Freelander over the summer - did this on the 1st March and started using my MG TF but really missing the Freelander this year, even though we still have the TD4.

I must be mad missing a petrol Freelander!!

Why?

Swapped hard top for my soft top about a month ago

I'm changing my winter tyres to my quieter summer tyres tomorrow.

I enjoyed last summer I can not remember the date but it was a wonderfull day

you must love the risk of headgaskets failing

Last time I was in one of those funny little cars with 2X4 drive system and no roof it was awful.

The air-con was pretty poor - the pollen filter was completely ineffective, and I discovered that my head was at the same height from the ground as the exhaust on almost every HGV!

We couldn't even hear the radio properly - Schubert's finer notes were totally lost, and for some strange reason confounding the laws of aerodynamics, there was a wind following us that blew my hair forward into my eyes!

I do believe that a roof for these models is an optional extra so that the passengers are not violated by the outside atmosphere. This would be a very good idea.

Unfortunately I don't think there are many of these vehicles with a 4X4 option.

I don't think they will ever catch on and replace fully enclosed vehicles.

Nope, daily driver freelander here.
Great car for doing so, better view ahead so I can react to stuff happening quicker. More comfortable than my mates shopping trolley cars and I like the grip on offer when you need a fast pickup and getaway.
TCS light coming on in the dry is rather amusing.

ha ha yeah up until last year I had 3 k series engined cars - freelander, MGF VVC and MG TF. HG is easy to fix if it goes wrong though - my Freelander had an MLS gasket done before I bought it and I have done one on my MGF.

TF is one of the new Chinese ones thats supposed to have fixed the problem - time will tell It has the MLS gasket and strengthened oil rail + a different cylinder head - not sure what they changed though!

I like the extra performance and fuel economy of the TD4 Freelander but my old 1.8 Freelander is very smooth and quiet and i do like it - it has never let me down over the last 2 winters and trusted it to take me anywhere.

Changed the clocks and my tyres to the Summer sports jobs at the weekend.

Much quieter and holds the road like glue.

20 degrees C again today - if the weather continues like this I might even consider opening the sliding-roof a centimetre or two!

The weather here is fantastic, so the rag top is down on the proper car, the gaylander will be needed at the weekend but the sun roofs will be open.
While the weather is like this my daily driver will be the proper car (if I can get the fuel for it, due to the pending tanker drivers strike)
You can't beat having the sun on your pate, lots of grip, no body roll and plenty of horse power

Its nearly time to get the bikes un-sorned, but freelander stays ready for those jobs the bikes cannot do, carrying the weekly shopping, taking pooch out on the moors etc.
It has been known to snow here in April...........
