Su conversion to Efi?

I really like SU carbs,my SIIA runs one and its loads better than the old rubbish it came out the factory with.
But what I cant understand is why everyone seems so scared of EFI - it is the making of a Rover V8,a basic hotwire system from a 3.9 RR/D1 costs very little from a breaker.It is simple,reliable and far better off road than any carb could be.Its not rocket science,loads is written about it,you dont have to have Testbook to diagnose it if it does go wrong either.Megasquirt would be even better but more costly and more reading/study to suss it out.
Anyone using carbs on an off roader is just giving themselves a big handicap.

Try the Rpi site as they have lots of info on carbs.The su is fairly easy to sort kickdown for....

I run a Webber 4 bbl carb on an Elderbrook manifold (ebay 185 - 300) on a Bored out 3.5 now 3.6.

No wires

No need to balance carbs

Around town or off roading it uses 2 smaller chokes 19 - 21mpg

Floor it and 2 more bigger chokes come into play plus lots more horses and fuel comsumption is measured in how many petrol stns you can pass - but that noise is worth it.

Bolt on reliability, good mpg when driven sensibly and more power when you need it.

Easy to fit, very easy to set up no special tools requires at all - fit and forget.
