SU made there own electric pumps, i have a Bendix on my Mk1 Cortina it came of a v8 landy and is the same as the current facet red top
the SU pumps had points in them Aston and Jag also used them/

I cannot remember how many times I've had to open the boot of the old Mini's,1100's I owned in the past and give the fuel pump a belt to get it pumping again.The E type has an electric pump and I put new points in it,no problem yet.
