stuck sump plug

Get a pump and suck the oil out through dipstick tube for now. Much cheaper than a gun. Also I wouldn't impact it out with a gun if I were you ally dump and steel bolt. You'll pull the thread out if its seized then you new plug will be usless.

While searching for same problem with my Disco V8i, I came across this thread.

Need 29mm (or 1-1/8 I think) ring spanner (The ONLY one I don't have :5bbanghead: ) and better get it. Soaking the plug in WD40 for a couple of days before I try again.

I am afraid I'll damage the plug if I put too much strength on it.

Does anyone knows how much force this plug can have before it snaps ?

Had to order one in especially for my 3.9

The sump plug needs a new copper washer and TORQUED to 23Nm (in reality not real tight!!)...

If the alloy threads are a little worn try some loctite 567, it'll stop it 'weeping'...

You will need a 1 7/16" AF spanner or socket.

Warm up the alloy around the plug and it will expand more than the steel.

Stick yer socket on a long bar and it should crack off quite easily. :D
