On that note, OP what recovery point are you attaching to on that motor as there may be member not familiar with the model?Me for example.

Are we not missing the point here somewhat.

I appreciate that we are trying to protect ourselves, but the good lady has asked for help. As we have said so many times before it’s down to the individual to decide whether they are going to help recover.

Down to the individual to check whether it’s in a legal spot

But making sure the car is taxed and tested?! Come on, we are not the police! They way we have been prattling on over the 7 pages will put people off asking for help!!

1. Someone asks for assistance
2. Moderator tags and messages people nearby
3. If someone can help they go and decide for themselves.

That is what has happened.... albeit with a lot of extraneous garbage being posted in between.
 
ive been a vro for 15 years and have seen the rapid increase in these claims.
you would not belive some of them.
just a friendly warning to you folk is all.
if they pull out the mobile phone and start filming you trying to help STOP and leave um there.
when out with my dog a little girl went face down in a stream I went into auto thank god I stopped myself picking her up.
her funt of a father did not try to help his child he pulled out his mobile and started to film me dam right left the kid face down in the stream and walked off.
scared the living crap out of me.
would never attempt anything like that again

As I said, happy to sign any form, the car is worth around £300 max so definitely nothing to claim for! Just want to be able to move it.

I'm sure someone will help when they can. There are many brilliant people on this forum. Btw: Prolly best to put a note in the windscreen if you haven't already with a contact number and explaining that you are trying to get it removed ASAP. Good luck :):)

Checking its legal status helps inform the decision making process.

The sticking point for me at the moment is it’s off piste up a restricted byway. I will see if I can contact the ROW officer at the council but if I can’t then that’s me out for the following reasons:

- brand new member joined solely for the purpose of getting free recovery, for a vehicle that they have got stuck illegally off roading
- off piste, with no permission for me to drive up there.

Is it time LZIR was made but invisible until you have become a member, I.e not visible via google.

Once again, purely by accident, friend thought it was ok for us to be there, only discovered yesterday it was not. Also, I was not under any impression it would be free, I have offered payment to be told you're not allowed to accept it.

If you have no help to offer please stop from further commenting. Thank you.

Can’t accept payment as it has legal ramifications.

I will see if I can get permission to drive up it today.

Apologies for the others lol.

My advice would be to go and ask at the farms, there are a couple in Wilmington -new barn farm and I can’t remember the other - look on a map, there are about 5. The farmer will probably pull it out with a tractor for £20 and they can, in most cases, use the restricted byways to access their land legally.
