stuck mileometer

hi

looking for a bit of help. my 1993 defender 90 has just hit 100k miles. the mileometer has stuck between 99999 and 100k. any ideas on how to fix this. mot is due next month so need to try and get it fixed.

why do you need to get it fixed for the mot?

i diddnt know the mileage display was an mot failure

It's not, it's only illegal to misrepresent the mileage when you come to sell the car...you could stop the mileage on 0 if you wanted and still pass every MOT.

You'd only get in trouble if you tried to tell people that's how many miles it's done...hence why all main car dealships you go into have a stick on them speedo saying "mileage may not be accurate"
