Hello, this is my first post, (although, I'm sure it won't be my last). I've had 8 or so land rovers over the last few years and to be honest not had any really major problems. That is until driving along the motorway, 2 weeks go, there was a bang from the right front, followed by a rapid banging in time with the wheel revolution. Once the AA had returned me home, I jacked the car and rotated the wheel, the wheel snagged at one particular point and there was a tinkling sound from behind the wheel! I purchased a new bearing kit and the next weekend got about the task of replacing it. Both the existing bearings looked new, with new grease, (bearing in mind I have the car 4 months and done about 1500 miles). Then when I removed the disc and hub, I could see that the bolt heads on the stub axle had connected with the bolt heads on holding the disc in place, shearing a couple of heads and disfiguring the rest! At this point I was left a bit stumped as to what could have caused this to happen. I'm just wondering if this happend to anyone else and if the cause had been identified? I would appreciate any advice offered. Thankyou
