Hi all!
Anyone ever had any experience with removing the Leather Seat covers?
Is it possible to DIY or only to be left to the experts?
Looking to get center panels of fronts and back seat recovered, and just wondered if anyones ever seen a walk through guide?
Cheers LTel

Evenin'.
When i did my cloth seats they were held on with small kind of clips that were knocked on firmly pinching the cloth to the frame. Can't see why the leather would be different as it's tougher than the standard seat cloth. I'll have a look on the disc and see.

Cheers, Nick.

Just had a look and it doesnt say anything about leather specifically, just a question of taking the seats out and if you put them inside, on carpet, upside down so as you look at them you will see the clips that hold the covers on the underside. There will be various bits of the seat that will need to be unbolted to help the covers off but it will self evident which these are cus the covers wont come off. Dont forget there are things called Hog clips that hold the cloth to the foam.

Cheers, Nick.

Cheers matey!
Have found a article on changing the base heater element,so that helps too..
If its just clips and bolts etc,,i'll have an attempt. Was just worried there was cutting and stitching whilst on the frame involved..
Cheers mate

just un bolting and unscrewing , just be aware that you dont trap the elec harness's when putting back together,
also the leather will be held to the foam with things called hog rings, you can just use small cable ties when refitting just make sure you push the cable tie head into the foam so they dont stick through you freshly renewed leather

Cheers guys!
Appreciate it...Gonna strip them in a week or two..
Just a thought, would it be worth writing a step through as i do it? Or do you reckon will be not much use to anyone?

Hi

I would love a step by step guide, I am thinking of fixing my seat heating in both front as they dont work. While the weather is nice here in Norway come October we will see 22- weather so I really need to get them fixed lol...no cold bum for me :D

Hi All,
When I replaced the heater elements on my 4.6 hse I followed the instructions from
Heated Seat Repair on Range Rover 4.0/4.6

They are pretty comprehensive, but it did take me much longer than expected.
Biggest thing to be aware of is that refitting of the leather to the seat base was much harder than I expected.

If you are going to do this it does seem you can buy new clips and a specialist tool to help. However I didn't know this.

Hope this helps.

Tony

Thanks Tony
Will have a look around for tool as ive got all the covers to remove and replace....
Had'nt thought till your post,i may as well check my heater elements out at same time,as mine dont get very hot,and passengers is inop...
Cheers mate
