Yep, as you drive up the lane to strata, there is a junction with a gated road, to the right habd side there is a bank, go up the bank and there is enough flat area for 6 landys and 6 tents, there is a good area for fires, and no one ever bothers you there

We would like a camp site close to a good start point with facilities and a pub within walking distance . Any help would be appreciated and anyone with mem maps.
This is all research as have a week to sort it out.
Many thanks

You could always camp along the lane. There is a really good opening around half way along. I have stayed there many of times with no issues however obviously no facilities if your staying there for 2-3 nights.

DONT DO IT:eek:

stopped there about 7 weeks ago

The ground there is really boggy atm with alll the rain and the forest behind it is like a open plan public lavatory

Then, come the warmer weather , it turns into midge alley

Try Llandovery , there's a little camp site , with toilet/shower block and its really 2mins away from Llandovery , also there are a good few pubs in the village. And it's about 1/2 hour-ish from the lane. Hope this helps

Try Borth, Aberystwyth, machunllyth, Tregaron, Llandewi Brefi, Lampeter, Aberaeron, Cilcennin, Silian...

Plenty of camping round that sort of area, particularly on the coast and within an hour of Strata. ;)

There's a nice campsite in Rhayader and its a 2 min walk to the village with a choice of pubs. Again it's about half an hour from strata but also has some good lanes nearby ;)

Wyeside Caravan Park: Home

Or if you want you could stay here, they do camping too and you can use all the facility's,but its miles from anywhere so you'll need your own beer!

Dolgoch Hostel | Cycling and Walking Breaks in Wales | YHA

It's more or less at the bottom of strata!
