Should have said .. can you email me the route? I'm off work at the mo so loads of time to check websites, make telephone calls etc to check up TRO's etc.

Just to confirm, I'm 99% sure I'm OK for that weekend.

Though I just realised my Disco needs n MOT before the end of the month. Forgot it was same time as TAX. My other car they're 6 months apart.

Sorry guys, not going to be able to join you now, something's come up that I can't put off anymore. .. :(

Oh no...

Who's going to tow me out of the water because I haven't got a snorkel?

Who's going to tell us to "Give it some wellie!"?

Who's going to bring the BBQ so we can laugh the night away ????? :D

Stop worrying about having a snorkel, chances are you wont need it. and if you think you do when you get there then chances are you wont want to ruin your Discos interiors with water anyway. There has to be a serious amount of water on Strata to need a snorkel, i've drove it many times summer and winter without one.

He He

I'm not worrying about a snorkel anymore - but when 2 or 3 more experience people suggest one you have to think about it. If it is deep, there'll be a way round - even if it's turn around.

However, I've got a day off tomorrow, and I promised myself a Diff guard before I went out again - cheap and easy.

Anything else I need ????

Steering guard ? - easy but not so cheap.
More recovery options than just a tow bar?

And my front valence may becoming off - need to have a look how it's attached - I nearly took it off on the ground last time i was out.

If you take the valance off you might want to cut the bumper endcaps too, it looks gash of you don't, or take all the plastics off and buy a set of endcaps to cut down .. or just swap the whole bumper assembly, four bolts at the chassis and two screws at the endcaps into the wing supports, (probably cheapest) for a crap one from ebay ... ;)

Valance is easy to remove, though, if that's all you want to take off. Crawl under from the front, and there's two screws (maybe 3) holding the valance to the end caps and about 5 or 7 holding the valance to the bumper .. possibly just as easy to pull them off with pliers or grind them off, mine had elongated holes where it had scraped the floor .. and they were so rusty they were effectively a single piece fixing .. ;) I think, but could be wrong, that they're all self-tappers into a folded pressed spring steel captive thing (dunno what you call it) ... ;)

Right it would look as if there are 2 places left for anyone who wants a good weekend, shame you cant make it paul mabe next time i want to do the chuch streton lanes in the middle of winter or reason you know why

Right it would look as if there are 2 places left for anyone who wants a good weekend,

We need someone that hasn't used a disposable BBQ before - otherwise it will feel like something is missing :D

Sorry Paul, but I don't think you've had all the abuse you deserve for that yet - one of the funniest things ever !!!!

I not sure how anyone could top that weekend - BBQ fail, sleeping arrangements, teenage snoring, the shock of seeing the scratches..........

Git ...

;)

Best I've had for a long while, twas great fun both days and sorry I can't make it for this one.
