Strange td5 fault

Hi guys I have a disco 2 td5, It's got a very strange fault. It used to be sluggish so I did the usual fuel pump change injector harness change etc but never really cleared the fault but definitely made it better. My car runs perfectly first thing in the morning, picks up and boosts as it should but when I turn the engine off for about 10 mins and go to drive somewhere else, it becomessluggish and struggles to rev upto boost which appears to kick in at just over 2000rpm when this is going on. Sometimes when it's doing it I justkeep driving and it will get betterand it seems like it wants to go soyou find its sluggish and then it justrandomly surges then picks up.Anyone else had this issue?

Have you got a boost gauge fitted? It may be the turbo wastegate is sticking open.
Did you change the fuel filter and air filter?
Unplug the MAF and see if it runs better when it struggles to rev.
Pull the MAP sensor from the inlet manifold and carefully clean it with some brake or carb cleaner.
Is your EGR still plumbed in and working? If so bin it!
It could be lots of things.

Have done/ tried all of the above, it's such a mystery. It's fine first thing in the morning for as long as I drive it but if I turn the engine off for let's say ten mins then start it again it just lags really bad and until it hits turbo.

sounds like a MAF issue.
I have mine unplugged for remapped reasons. Now when I start up and pull of straight away I have a really low powered truck. This is because the ECU is looking for a signal from the MAF. As the MAF has been disconnected the ECU then switches over to the MAP sensor for signals. When the ECU switches over full power is returned. This happens for around 5 to 6 seconds.

Sounds like a MAF issue, I believe you can test them with a multimeter or better yet a Nanocom. If you replace only use genuine/Siemons the rest are shi.t

had a similar thing on my defender,fine first drive use it again when engine still hot same thing pull away gutless then after a while would clear plugged in hawkeye and watched live data while this happened turned out the map sensor was making up its own temp would go up and down all over the place don't know if this was because when stopped heat would build up in the manifold got better after a while but this could be because the airflow cooled the manifold anyway change the sensor been fine since hope this helps

I and a map sensor that jacked in that caused this. next time it does it unplug it and see if it runs ok
