Hi, ive not driven my landy for a while but took it for a drive today and when i got in it i heard a strange squeek, similar to prop vibrations. The landy was in neutural so the props werent roating and it was just on tickover. However when i got out of the landy the rattle/squeek stopped, and when i get in it starts, although only on tickover. Has anyone got any ideas where this could be coming from, i was thinking perhaps the two damper halves were vibrating against each other, but i havent been able to check and confirm this yet, although apart from this i havent got any real idea where the noise is coming from, so any help would be much appriciated.

Thanks

Ollie

I know if the tranny box wears there can be a squeak in neutral - nothing to worry about, mine's been doin it since i gorrit about 2 year ago but it might be that, summat else is likely to go first if it is!

Weird, last week i had the engine out to have the bell housing gasket replaced, so maybe theres something in that, although i wouldnt have thaught it would be affected by me geting in and out??

Got a bit of an update, the vibration only seems to occur on tickover, so when i up the revs even a tiny bit it goes away, could i just tighten the cable which goes to the accellerator slightly if i cant get to the route of the problem, although when get some more time i will have a better look.

My guess is exhaust or exhast bracket rubbing on the gearbox. When the box was put back in it's been moved over slightly on the cross member mount.

Get someone else to sit in while your under it. If it's the wife make sure you offer to take her shopping afterwards. That way if she's got a grudge she might not run you over. :smokin:

Yeah you were right, just went out after tea and saw the exhaust bracket was bent slightly so that it was rubbing the chassis rail, so easily sorted. Although as both the engine and exhaust pipe are connected to the chassis, i dont understand why the vibrations only occured when someone was in the 90??

Thanks
