Looking for advice from the wise and wonderful on this forum, I’ve recently discovered I had snapped my timing belt so that’s all fixed and new bearings replaced too whilst I was there, timing has been recent too but….

There’s always a but it has now developed a thudding sound when driving and accelerating. When I dip the clutch it stops I have no idea where it is coming from. Please some people just throw out some ideas before I get a garage to have a look at it.

Would need some more details on this. Does it change with engine revs, or road speed, or is it always constant? does it happen if you put the transfer box, or gearbox in neutral? doe sit change when underload or engine braking. I would suggest it is not linked to the timing belt failure as it changed when the clutch is dipped.

Try removing the front prop. Then going for a drive with the centre diff lock engaged. If the noise has stopped it's something to with the front half of the drive train.
If not reinstall the front prop and remove the rear and go for a drive. Etc.

While they are out have a good look at the props and check for any play anywhere.
