strange smell, help please

un plays havoc wiff heater matrix. . . . . . .dunt use it

Ah! Thanks chaps, will steer clear of the cheaper fix then! I have it booked into Tim Fry in Cheltenham next week, should just be a pipe leaking on the side of the Rad that I cannot get to, fingers crossed they do not uncover anything else...........!

not sure a bout yours , but some aircon systems have a drain if this gets blocked they stink , and you get all sorts of germs n stuff growing in the system, if you take it to an aircon place they,ll sort it out...

Errm. The aircon doesn't leak coolant (antifreeze) though and int connected to the loss of said coolant and the telltale antifreeze marks coming from the coolant pipe that he's found leaking. Unless you know something we don't?

it is in the garage, I have been told it is a water pump seal / gasket. Any ideas how much I am looking at to replace - they are waiting parts for tomorrow?!?! Is in at an independent LR garage in Cheltenham.

I have been quoted £200 for replacing the gasket on the water pump (£10 part) and the expansion tank (£5 part)

Does the labour sound right?!?!

Yes. It does sound about right. Find out how much the water pump is. For the extra £30ish you might aswell get a new one slung on as you are paying the labour for it anyway and they generally come with a gasket.
