Hi everyone

ok...... not goin to get into the story of how i got scammed into this car but now its time to me to get it repaired.

its a Range Rover originally a 4.6 HSE with a 2.8 td mitsu engine 1993-2000 V46P

well i bought the car and drove it away. 15miles later the temp shot straight up to red then a light come on then get back down so a pulled off the motoway and it cut out before this the computer said teamp gauge faulty.

i opened the bonnet and it had no water but still had alot of pressure and steam in the over flow.

Many hours later i got it towed back up to Manchester from Cardiff.

OK..

She starts up fine and drives fine (very short distance) but everytime i start her up alot of pressure and hot water gets in the over flow.

can someone help me please help me......

thanks in advance

mitsi? check the rads ok then thermostat the water pump, cheap n easy to check, the 2.8 mitsi engine is a good lump hydro would be last to check for me

these suffer from heads big time :(

Correct especially if it's and 'import' (pajero) engine, check crankshaft pulley bearings as if knackered it affects the water pump, also check you haven't got an air lock, but my guess is a cracked head.

now now nat. imports do have head problems as a few have said i would have sniff test first it only cheep if that ok then start going through things nat said good luck for your sake i hope nat is right but i sit on fence as i had a lot to do with imported shoguns

im surprised to hear imports suffer big time with heads, ive had 2 2.8's and me mate had 1 and all 3 were v.good but s'pose thats the luck of the draw... btw id put my old pajero against my p38 all day long :D no contest on the best looking tho, im still upset (sniffle) bout selling me pajero i still miss it :( lol
