strange noise

please could somebody help or advise when i drive my disco i'm getting a strange noise drowning in 3rd up to 5th gear then constant ie: rumbling vibration. Sound's like it's coming from around the turbo area no loss of power or smoke just checked turbo hoses all fine just a thought could it be the uj's any advise very welcome as i'm now away on holiday when it happened i'm limited to what i can do thank's

Is it speed related or just gear related?, manual or auto?..........if u i.e (on manual) going in 4th and take it out of gear do you still encounter the syndrome?

Sorry it's a 300tdi manual and yes it seem's speed related ie:30 mph -55mph seem's then to steady out but still there if that make's sence or when the engine is under load going up the gears 3rd - 5th or hill's no noise in first or second or tickover or if you rev the engine only as said above thank's

in this case is quite obvious that is axle or transmission related....if it's not something as banal as a wheel balancing issue.......don't u feel some easy vibration in the steerig wheel at the same time?...coz if u do get your wheels balanced before u go further with other diagnozis?
