make sure the seatbelt pretensioners are not making tricks or if if it was plugged in a tester lately maybe the seatbelt warning or some naudible warning setting was accidentaly activated

Not sure what it can be, only know it happens when i'm driving around but can't identify anything particular driving wise thats causing it to happen.

It's a self - diagnostic.

Jump in, start it up and go, no dings.
Jump in, wait for ALL dash lights to go out, diagnostics finished.
All ok = 3 dings.

Try it ;)

The only time my Disco 2 has ever "dinged" is when I had a fecked hub that brought up the "amigo's",it never did it before and hasn't since.

If you turn key to heater plug and crank over as soon as the heater light extinguishes, there will be no chimes. If you turn the key and wait for the heater plug & the rest of the dash lights to extinguish, it chimes 3 times to tell the driver a system check has been completed, and all is well. :)

According the user manual on my Disco 2 it's the ABS self check, I had to look it up too. I have also noticed it doesn't always ding, now I know why, cheers.

THh same three dings will be heard if you get the 'Three Amigos' - ABS, HTC and TC lights whilst in motion.

that 'ding-ding' on self check is specific for facelift modells ... worth a try to disable the seatbelt audible warning(it used to make tricks) ... u must access the BCU with tester for that
