Stranded!!!

Hi all,
I went to my 93 classic last night and when I unlocked the driver door, it never unlocked the other doors. When I opened it, the alarm didn't go off. When I keyed the ignition, all lit up, but no power to the starter. Turning the key didn't even dim the lights (plenty of battery). I checked the central locking fusek. Can anyone help? I live in the middle of nowhere and can't move without the old rangey.I have lots of tools and a reasonable knowledge of wiring etc, so a quick fix would be as welcome as anything!!

sounds like the battery might be flat give it a boost or jump see if that helps.Does it have an immobiliser?

Give your starter motor/solenoid a tap with a hammer. Mine sometimes does this but so far a couple of tries with the key and she fires. You might want to try looking at the start inhibitor switch if it isn't the starter motor (assume it's an auto).

My starter motor wire has a habit of popping off, maybe check thats there.

Thanks, but I think it's the immobiliser, that was set with the key, not the keyfob. i'm getting a batt for the keyfob, but when locked with key it sets alarm off when you open with fob. Seems curious the central locking stopped working at the same time as the key not turning it over. the lights don't even dim when I turn the key!

That means there no change in demand from the battery, either the immobiliser is stopping it start or the starter motor is taking any juice.

Ok, I tried new battery in immobiliser, no good. Battery in car is fully charged. There's a loud relay click in the box under the cubby box marked "electric windows" This clicks if I leave the key turned to full ignition after 3-4 seconds, as if taking up then bypassing the current meant for the starter. Can't understand the central locking not working either...
Any clues welcome and thanks for all so far

Defo sounds like immobiliser then.I cant help with that im afraid!
