Just about giving up on finding a half decent series to buy, been to see a few and they are not as advertised

Its good that you are going to see them, only you know's what you are looking for, keep looking there's loads about, i sold one last week a real gem

keep looking, they are out there, there was a cracker in the for sale section on here the other month, sold though

Friend of mine just linked me to your post, can't see where you're based from your post on my phone but I've got my Series 3 up for sale at the minute. It's had a lot of welding over the years to be fair, but it's a nice little Series at a fair price, with 12 months ticket too

I'm in South Wales , and I've seen the series 3 on eBay and spoke to the owner , but I'm after a more original one , truck cab , 21/4 diesel. Good old work horse , no fancy stuff , and tax exempt,

I've seen a few nice looking ones for sale over here in Holland recently but they are all priced in excess of 15,000 euros...

Is it tricky to import one from the UK? Surely that would be the thing to do?

why would they want one with the steering wheel on the wrong side?

This is true! Didn't think of that! Small price to pay for the cost saving?

a landy is slightly better since it is higher up than a car so being on the wrong side is less of a disadvantage but I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side all the time especially just to save a few quid, guess some people might not mind

I have taken an rhd car to france on hols and also driven lhd cars abroad, much rather drive an lhd where appropriate

Oh I'm not in the market for another one. I've got my hands full with the pile of rust I've already got.

I was (getting round to) saying that the prices for the so called "good ones" are a bit silly.

To be honest I don't think it is going to be such a problem - I do have a RHD vehicle in a drive on the right country. A Land Rover is high enough above most traffic to make passing possible. And don't forget the chances of passing in a 2,25 diesel 109" series 2a are small!

There must be a landy somewhere in S Wales for you. With the last made in 1983 most will not be pristine. If they are you'll pay a lot (5-10k). Take a view. Truck cabs are less common. The diesels can be total pigs to tune especially for MOT emissions. I'd be looking for one with a solid chassis and suspension, the rest is fixable.

Yep soils chassis and bulkhead are the most important, and one that hasn't been slammed off road with the scaffold pole behind the front bumper p
