Hello, I'm just looking to buy my first Land Rover, and any advice would be welcome, I wanna get it right first time !! I have around 8-9K to spend and am thinking along the lines of a 110 hard top, something to be reliable enough for everyday road use aswell taking the dog (and wife!) walking and camping etc. into the Welsh hills. With so much on offer is there any thing I should look out for or avoid? I live in the Midlands and I'm thinking of taking a trip out to Liveridges4x4, any experiences ? They seem very helpful. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Bake, I got a Series III at the end of December and can't believe it took me this long to get one. I've had two Discos (Both Series 2) and a Range Rover (middle one that no-one knows the name of) and the Series just makes me smile so much more. It's done 2400 mile in 7 weeks and never missed a beat. Yes you do have to give it far more attention than a modern Landie but I feel the rewards are well worth it. However, if you don't think you can live with a series then my choice would be a 90 or 110.

Best thing to do is to take the long haired boss (two legged type) for a test drive in them and see what she thinks. On second thoughts don't bother as you'll end up with the Rangey.

I went to Liveridges and was so impressed with the quality of their refurbs that I ordered one then and there, they have quite a waiting list. It's a very expensive option, but hey, this Landys for life !
