2.0L DOHC petrol.

Fitted to the disco and defender( Italian cops). Known as the MPI. They wouldn’t fit the turbo version as it put out more than the V8 3.5.

found in a lot of the rover cars and our defender:).

Might I suggest a supercharged Gen 5 LT4 6.2L V8 engine from a Corvette? lol

I was quoted three grand for a series diesel rebuild but with a year turn around. They are all busy due to lockdown, spare cash and dads old MG in the garage for the last 10 years. They are all bombed out with work.
I did my own in the end. Mobile engine borer, a few turner engineering parts and lots of swearing. I could very likely do one much quicker now I’ve had a bash but total cost was less than two grand. I did get a new old stock crank and piston kit at a steal which kept the price down a bit.

Yes Mate got some vids on here somwhere but this is it. Right faff on changing it to 12 volt, still need some things sorting on the Alternator belts, but quite happy with it.
First vid when it first started without exhaust, second one with exhaust fitted.
What do you think ?.

Runs like a top, sounds sweet . was it £1400 plus vat ? ex military surplus has no expense spared , will be the best of the best , imagine the liability if they didnt perform as required in a military situation.. There must be hundreds of them waiting to be released .. likewise 200 and 300 TDIs ..
