My disco 300 tdi ES had these horrid "discovery" stickers along the door bottoms and lower wings, I got the stickers off easily but the sticky residue I just cant shift. I have tried white spirit, some autoglym tar remover and petrol without success. Does anybody have any suggestions to what I can use to get this stuff off my paintwork?

thanks

Dave

white spirit , dont use thinners, incase its been painted b4 ,it will fetch the paint off. or panel wipe as used in the bodyshop trade.:)

IPA (Isopropanol, Isopropal Alcohol) will remove any sticky stuff. It's an industrial solvent and also used for.making biodiesel. You can get it on eBay or from a few chemical suppliers online or if you are anywhere near Fife in Scotland I can give you some. Failing that panel wipe from any car paint place should work but might need a bit more effort.

Remember to wax the area after using any solvent as you will remove any protection from the paint

Thanks guys for the advice, I have tried everything suggested and the only thing that sort of works is thinners and scraping with and old credit card. It will come off but its a bit laborious.

Pity land rover didnt use the glue they put the stickers on with to hold the boot floor together!!:)
