Anyone know where and if i can get a stereo to replace, the existing one in my 1994 disco ES, I am looking for one that still works on the dash controls, but will also have an ipod port,
cheers Wade.

dont think that exists mate......changed to an after market one and ignore the dash controls....get one that comes with a remote control....problem solved

JVC do one that works with I pod, then just get the Autoleads adaptor from Halfords or your local I.C.E. shop and connect it to your dash controls. That's how I solved the problem anyway!!!!

dash controls that work - do they exist?? even if they do, why would you wanna use them? there behind the steering wheel so a pain in the ass to get to, so may as well just use the controls on the radio!!

if you really wanna keep um then Kenwood and JVC both definately do adaptor leads, not sure about any of the others.

and dont forget you will need an adaptor to keep your rear door mounted subs working - there amplified so if you just change the stereo they wont work no more.

It really is simpler than it sounds.

I have just replaced the worlds worst CD/Sat Nav (Becker Traffic Pro) with an all singing all dancing model from EBay.

All of the leads are labeled, ISO adapter plugs/sockets are readilly available (EBay or Maplins), the LR Discovery workshop CD (EBay) contains all of the lead information you need.

Then just marry up the leads and Bobs your Uncle.

Worked like a dream first time.

I have a 2000 discovery and I have an Alpine IDA-x100 and it plays only the ipod. Mine is discontinued but they sell a IDA-x300 that is the same thing. You can add a disc changer if u like. and you can add the box for the steering controls if you want. It was pretty easy to install. I am not sure how similar your Landy is to mine.

and did all your speakers connect up properly? do you have the bass speaker in the rear door?

cheers

These guys claim that this plugs right in without any adapter or rewiring at all. Sounds to good to be true but I'm going to give it a try as my cd changer no longer functions and the radio crackles with nasty feedback.

Clarion CZ509EG

What I would like ideally is something that looks as understated as the factory kit in my 2000 Disco TD5 with the high spec cassette/cd changer system....but with a single CD player and MP3 jack.

Most everything on the market looks a bit boy racer for my tastes.

I guess the Clarion I posted above might be as close as I can get.

Ya that Clarion looks as close to the original I guess. At least it has a green display. After you hook a wiring harness up to the radio it does plug right in. The only cutting of wires I needed to do was for the steering controls and it was just one wire.
