Steering wheel not straight.

Is there a reason why my steering wheel can suddenly move out of line. When I'm going straight, the wheel is about 2 inches to the right of centre. It seems to have happened suddenly. Obviously I can just straighten the wheel up but I don't want to mask a problem. So do you reckon it's the tracking that's off of something more serious?

Have you been off road, any chance you have damaged anything? if not possibly t/r/e or swivell bearing colapse.

Forgot to ask if there was play or is wheel firm but just moved?

Same happened to me, which was due to a bent steering arm following an off road incident.

I haven't been off road for about 3 weeks and I changed the track rod ends about 2 weeks ago.

There's the usual play in the wheel but nothing excessive. As far as I know it's just moved suddenly. Maybe I'm imagining things but I swear that after I did the track rod, the wheel was straight.
