Hi all i have a 2005 r/r sport diesel auto. i am getting a steering wheel shake at 60 mph.like the wheels are un balanced but i have had this all checked.

Did it come on sudden or gradual?

Sudden is bad, gradual is better.

Have you checked the bushes on the front suspension?
Hi It came on gradual and is not always the same,a bump in the road or uneven surface seem to start it off.bushes seem fine the only slight play seems to be at the end of the steering rack.

Give the brakes a sharp stab at 40Mph and listen for slap sound. This is a good test for the large lower arm hydro-bush at fault.

Hi thanks for your suggestions will have a look.
Hi All just had a new air suspension pump fitted because off a lot of suspension warnings,now some times get one amber light on dash.Would the system need recalibrating with new pump if so what would i need,i have a disc for the p38.But this is a 2005 R/R sport 2.7 diesel.

Just new pump should not affect any settings. Unless they changed from Hitachi to AMK (not sure of that for sport)
@gstuart will know:)

have you sorted your steering shake?

What did a diagnostic read come up with?
Would the system need recalibrating with new pump i
No, if the same type of pump was fitted. There are however 2 types of suspension pump, one made by Hitachi and the other AKM. They are interchangeable, however they need different software, which need to be installed at the time of the pump change.

You need a diagnostic device for the correct vehicle. I'd get the IID BT tool from Gap Diagnostics. That's about the best and most user friendly diagnostic tool available for these later LR models.
