I have some problems with my steering. A few weeks ago i was offroading and while i was there for some reason i was able to turn the steering wheel 3 turns to the left and only 1 to the right.

First thing i checked when i got home was the drag link length and TRE's all were OK

So assuming i had bent things i started replacing some part, I have replaced the panard rod ( it was a different shape to the new one)

I have also replaced the link assembly at the steering box.

Now i have 1 1/2 turns to the right and just over 1 3/4 turn to the left. I have tried adjusting it out using the drag link but i cant get it any better.

Now i am starting to think that i have fffed something in the steering box, Lying underneath it the arm coming out of the steering box is pointing to the right hand side. I removed the arm from the steering box but it is properly located and can only be fitted in that position.
Any ideas where to go next ?????

its possible ,if you turn box so that it has equal turns either way and is central drop arm should point straight ahead if it doesnt you must have damaged box

when i centralize the box the arm does face forward, the drop arm can only go on the box in one position it is when i connect it up to the drag link that all is ff fed.

The steering was working fine before i went offroading.

We have a common problem on Ford and Mazda utes where their steering stop bolt can wined out reducing lock in one direction only. I have not studied the front diff on my Landy but would think it would also have a bolt that would limit the movement.
