Unless it covers the whole thing, they are useless.
The steering wheel can be cut through.
The same with pedal locks.
Around here the scum just use a low loader and pick the whole vehicle up :(

Yep, Disklok, plus a pedal lock, and a home modded h/brake to gear lever lock. First two to annoy / delay the more determined yob, last one is to stop the local oiks letting the hand brake off on the hill.

But if they want it, and have the resources chances are they will get it.

Cheers

It needs to be something that you can put on easily every time you stop & leave the vehicle. It's just as likely - if not more likely - to be stolen from the supermarket car park as from your drive at night.
The fiddlier the device the sooner you'll stop putting it on.
My own is electronically immobilised with a system I fitted when I first bought it - not armed/disarmed by a plipper device so you can't catch a signal with electrickery - & automatically arms itself around 30 secs after turning the ignition off.

Like @neilly said, turn wheels to full lock and use the steering lock, then a steering wheel lock, it also needs something turning to turn power on, as well as the key, and something else doing ... ;) At home it's behind two sets of large locked gates, one set of gates with the missus and sons cars outside, parked so they can't open, and ofen, if it's not going to be used for more than a week, with at least one wheel off ..

I don't always use all of them, but mostly .. :)

Frankly I think the best deterrent is that it looks so rough, no-one wants to nick it .. ;)

I think Thatcham rated is supposed to mean something? As said above, if they are determined they will have it whatever. I block mine in at night with another car, and it always wears a steering lock. Its a case of protect it enough to make them go and look for an easier target.

For parking in the supermarket the discloc will stop most ****s even trying to get in . It's obvious and takes time to defeat. Ignition cut offs mean they need to tow it away.
If you leave it for longer periods then you need to prevent them spending time defeating your security.

In my case it's behind a solid 6ft wall with metal locked gates, and more importantly not visible from the road..

I use one of these.

Plus when parked overnight , one of these.

But, I must admit to leaving at Tescos with no lock on it and the doors unlocked.

Cheers
