I am fitting a steering guard and was removing the towing eyes... I checked out the steering damper and its in reasonable condition and almost cetainly the original factory fit (1997 110 with 114k)
I am thinking of replacing it before fitting the guard.... I have no issues with vibration, wobble over bumps etc.

Should I leave well alone.... ie if it aint bust dont fix it or is it time to replace it?

If so.... would Armstrong oil filled or similar be just as good as a gas filled costing twice as much? I am running a standard set up. Cheers :)

If it aint broke don't fix it.

If yer desperate to chuck yer cash away then I fitted a S**tpart supergaz damper to my previous landy and was actually impressed with it so fitted one to my current landy too. I don't know if they're still on offer but it only cost me summit like £10 from paddocks. I had toyed with spending £60 on a self centreing damper.

THanks for that....I am fitting Monroe gas shocks and OEM springs this week. Had another look today and bushes look a bit perished. Have a credit note plus postage with Paddocks so a matching yellow supergaz one looks a good choice. :)
