I have power steering on a 1987 2.5N/A 90, recently its started to shudder or knock up through the steering column and its quite noticeable now on the steering wheel, generally happens on rough tarmac or uneven road surfaces. Any help/ideas appreciated, if its a case of greasing the swivels could someone tell me what and where the swivels are :) . Thanks, Mark

How is your steering damper?

Check the tightness of the bolts holding the column to the bulkhead.

Might be the uj's on the shaft in the engine bay. Open the bonnet, grab the shaft between the steerin' box and where it goes into the bulkhead and give it a good tug or get a screwdriver in the uj's to see if they're knackered. Easy job to replace them;) :D

Look in post 7 of this...

If ye struggle gettin' the shaft off, try a little gentle perswayshun with a hammer on the lump in the middle of the shaft;) :D
