Steering column bearing

My mates total strip down of his 1987 n/a 90, with 300tdi engine + gearbox going in, is going well with just the odd problem here and there. Footwell and other bits replaced ( why does nothing fit anymore?). Chassis and bulkhead with a couple of other small bits, are going for galvanising on Thursday. Panels all rubbed down ready for respray.
Current problem;
His existing bottom steering column bearing is knackered. It looks serviceable, but cant get a definite answer if it is or isnt from local LR specialists. If its a replacement part required, he cant find anyone that does them anyway. The original is stamped INA (German?) but they dont supply anymore apparently.
Anyone got any ideas where he could perhaps get the bearing from?
