Steering box adjustment

Hello knowlegable ones,

I have the normal vague steering on my 300TDI 1996.
Checked everything through. Appear to be in the box. Is it possible to remove any of the play in the steering by adjusting the nut/ screw on the top of the steering box or would this be ill-advised to tamper with.

That's not my spelling mistake btw!

That's what the allan headed screw and it's lock nut are for, adjusting the steering box only.. that may not remove play in the steering as there are a few bits that may be worn ie. bushes, ball joints etc.

Don't play with the top Nut Too Much as it can Leak
