Steering angle sensor permanent failure

The steering angle sensor is showing as permanent failure. This has also now put a load of other warnings on the dash. Anyone had the same problem

Steering sensors are pretty common on the D3. Unfortunately it's at the bottom of the steering column, and is subject to wear and physical damage from unintentional foot contact.

Thanks been told the sensor is fitted into the rack and can't be changed with out changing the complete rack
