My 53 plate disco 2 auto also feels "unsafe" on some roads, to the extent where (on fast roads) move wheel left or right to correct path, and takes seconds to respond. Could this be drag link arm problem?. I've just laid under car and held both ends of bar and ball joint lifts up/down slightly and sideways. Not sure what, if any movement there should be. Im not a mechanic so will need to get garage to check and replace but gives me a starting point. I have added two pics to make sure i was wiggling right bits. Bearing in mind I'll be using a garage and the condition of the joints wondering if complete assembly wil be a cheaper option than labour cost trying to seperate and replace ends only!. Thanks

Any lift at all shows that the joint has failed. If the ball joints are gone I'll bet you all find some front bushes needing attention as well.

Had a look at panhard rod. If bushes are bad would the rod move with hand force or need some help from a lever of some sort? Tyre pressures checked to 30 psi as per book. Read somewhere tyre size could cause problems, the bigger the worse. Mine are 255/55/18 both new and same tread pattern, although rear are different pattern to front, but same on axle.

Best way to check front bushes and joints is to have someone rock the steering side to side while you stick your head under and have a look. This will show bad panhard bushes very obviously.
