hello,

I had my mot and had an advisory about my drag link end ball joint having slight play.

I had to have it serviced any way so sent it in to the main dealer for them to look at it.

they say that there should be some play in it and that the mot garage was wrong to put the advisory on there. they checked the rest of the system and say its ok...

The steering does feel sloppy where it didnt before and the main dealer has pointed out that i have uneaven wear in the front tyres, the drivers is 1-2mm lower than the passengers side. am i being paranoid thinking there is a problem or should i just let it go?

what do you lot think???

Ta
Rob

The drag link ball joint has a spring built in and as such there should be a "small" amount of vertical play.
Never hurts to get the tracking checked.
:)

No play is good
A little vertical play is fine and by a little I mean a little, hgvs only have a max vertical lift of 1.5mm so pro rata that down to car size to get an idea of what I mean
No lateral/side play allowed at all.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your responses on this.

I had a good tug on it this weekend (oooh er missus) and yup up down nothing left to right.

So i guess its all ok, i'm due to get my tyres done shortly so i'll get the tracking done at the same time!

thanks all
Rob
