starting trouble runs then dies

Hi i have a p38 dse and it has just started to play up starting. It will start up but has no power and wont rev then dies and then it takes about 3 attempts to start and run. If you keep your foot on the floor eventually it will pick up the revs and then it is fine for the rest of the day. it is only first thing in the morning when it is cold. It has had a new fuel pump and glow plugs about six months ago and has only done about 500 miles since. The cars has not been started for about 3 weeks and was fine the last time i used it three weeks ago but know i have tried it the last three mornings and it has been a pig to start can anyone help please

Algae or bacterial growth in the fuel tank, in tank pump failed, fuel filter partially blocked,
leak off pipes leaking and letting air in, or most likely, your new glow plugs were cheapo's and have failed.

i can hear the fuel pump when i turn the ignition on and i bought the glow plugs from brookwells so i would of thought they would be ok and surely the engine would not fire if they were dud coz it will run just dies

So look at the filter etc

i have just checked the fuel pump and disconnect the pipe to the fuel filter and turned on the ignition and it is working, i also drained the fuel filter and it was clean i did replace it the same time as the fuel pump do you think it would worth fitting a new one.

The fuel filter housing is air-tight I assume?
Check your leak-off pipes.

yeh all seems fine cant see any leaks, its bizzare just took it out it started first time and drove fine yet i know tomorrow it will be a pig to start in the morning
