Starting Problems

Hi, new to this so bear with me and treat me gently

300Tdi Def 110 ocasionally will not start, usually after a run, glow light works, turn key and nothing.

I have traced the fault to a black box within the battery compartment, drilled the rivets off and located a faulty printed circuit board within. It is a Lucas part with the No 5387-2742B stamped on it, I belive it is linked to the immobilliser/ alarm system.

If I short out the NEC microswitch on the board it will start fine.

Anyone know where I can source a replacement PCB from ?

I have now identified the part its a "SPIDER" there is so much out there on this topic, Just Google "Land Rover Spider" !

The same Disco bypass unit will resolve problems on defenders,

That explains the spider problem, another prince of darkness part... they should stick to alternators and things...

mine did that. fitted a push button in discreet location,turn key on press button brm brm simples
