I've had a starting problem with Ralph, which is worsening, on start up when the key is turned to the start position nothing happens, dash lights that need to go off do, keep the key in this position from seconds up to 6 mins plus then he'll start. This doesn't happen all the time, sometimes he'll start first click, other times you can be there 10 mins. Checked all the contacts and connections on the starter, fairly new battery in the fob. I'm starting to get worried I'll be away from home or away laneing and Ralph won't start.
Anyone got any possible solutions?

I know the ignition switch can go faulty. The manufacturers lubed the switch with a grease that seems to harden over the years, this makes the contacts sluggish to operate.

+1 ignition switch. Disconnect battery, remove switch, take cover oft and poke sand paper in to clean contacts while turning the switch. Contacts open and close at different switch positions. Got a vid somewhere I'll put up soon.

Im sorry I cant help with your main problem, but your second problem can be sorted, it's bad enough that our pride and joy's get the name of gaylander, without you adding to it by calling it RALPH!!!!! change it this instant to a girl,
