After wasting a couple of 100 pounds trying to get my local garage to fix the problem with my freelander I did a bit of digging on LZ and worked out the problem myself. I spent £ 9.95 on the part and a couple of quid on postage, it took me an hour in total to take the starter off, replace the contacts and plunger and refit the starter. If anyone else has a problem with constant clicking and not starting i would suggest visiting the e bay shop of repairkitsuk.

Did mine just the other day, best £12 ever spent ! :D

Bit tricky getting to the upper 13mm bolt holding the starter.

What sort of garage were you using that couldn't diagnose and fix a starter motor? I'm concerned!!!!

Re:Remoulds

Maybe you need to name the garage who ripped you off, so if anyone else is thinking of using the same garage gets a heads up of the poor services..nothing worse than paying for bogus service advice!! ;)
