HI I have a Freelander 2.0 diesel (1999)with an intermittent starting problem.
Turn the key and all dash lights come on as usual, small 'click' from under dash, blower stopped while trying to start, and nothing else. Found my way to the starter/solenoid and checked voltage on solenoid on starting - nothing. Disconnected main lead going to starter and jumpered solenoid to battery, nice big clunk and the engine turned over. Reconnected everything and engine started as usual. SO, does this point to the starter relay, or solenoid? If the relay where is it.....as usual the Haynes manual is lacking in location and my newly downloaded Rave manual is for 2001 onwards . Anyone get an idea where to look?
Cheers
