hiya
sorry found out i was being a nob!!!
i have a 99 disco TD5 and on frosty mornings i can wind the thing over for anything up to 10 seconds before it starts.
i had this last year too and my local LR dealer had a look and a test and couldnt find any problems.
All summer it was fine, and now the frosty weather is here, its doing ot again. I have just had a new alternator fitted as old one burned out and i thought this might help but alas, no.
any thoughts and help greatly appreciated.

thanks all

Poss. weak battrey, changed mine recently and now starts on the button. Before that the battery would turn the engine over but it didn't fire up for ages. Seems the starter takes all the power and the rest of the electrical gizmos are starved. Also check the crap battery terminals are seated properly, tap them down around the edge with a hammer and then tighten. Nothing worse than a dead Disco, a cold morning and a cold wife...
