Good Morrow Forum,

I have an intermittent problem. Inserting the ignition key and turning to the first position all the usual lights come up. Turning the ignition key further to start the engine produces nothing. (No solenoid click and ignition lights stay on.) Removing the key and turning the steering wheel a quarter of a turn in either direction and trying again usually works - but not always and may take a couple of further tries. The starter motor then turns the engine and all is well. This intermittent fault started about a couple of months ago and seems to be gradually getting more frequent.

I suspect it has something to do with the "lock position" of the steering wheel when the ignition key is removed.

Any thoughts would be gratefully received. (In particular if it needs a replacement ignition switch.)

Regards
