Hi,
I am having a starting issue with my freelander 1 2005, 1.8 petrol.
It began in the colder weather a week ago, it turns over and nearly fires up, I have to jump start with wife's car to try and save battery, eventually it fires up after 10 or so attempts , short turn of the key and longer.
I have now changed spark plugs and got a new battery, didn't start again this morning, called the RAC who eventually got it started with booster pack. He said not good in cold weather, temperature sensor may be broken and giving wrong mix and flooding engine.... I get the impression he didn't really know.
Now the car is warm is does start 5 mins after turning off, but only just.
Any ideas??
Thanks in advance
Nick
