Starting a hot engine problem.

Hi. I have a 04 td4 facelift . I drove 100ish miles with no problems. Stopped outside Saintsbury's for some milk. Tried to start all crank and no go. Eventually started on the umpteenth try. No smoke, no warning lights nouthing. Ran like a dream.
Is this a precursor of a sensor fail? Or something more sinister?
Any help would be appreciated.

I suppose the main candidates would be the cam sensor, injection pump solenoid O ring and the fuel pressure sensor harness.

Did you solve your problem? mine is doing exactly the same symptoms as yours after the weekend
