Starter Solenoid?

The Disco didnt want to start this morning, just a 'click' from the engine bay upon further investigation if you continuously flick the key on/off it eventually engages the starter and she fires up.

Is this the solenoid contacts i have read about or is the actual starter on the way out?

Classic symptoms of the starter solenoid problem. There will be a few times where it just clicks and then it eventually works. As time progresses, the clicks become more frequent, so it becomes less of an annoyance and more of a lottery as to whether you get stranded.

Solenoid is on its way out Or your battery is ****.

Battery is new (well 6 months old) and fooking massive

Once the starter has engaged it starts straight away and turns over fine so must be the solenoid.
