Starter problems?!?!?!?!!!

Hey everyone! I'm a first timer to this but was looking some advice. I bought a 93 defender 90 and after a while she wouldn't start. I got a new battery because the one in her was outa a golf but It has been in her one day and she won't start!

Can anybody help cus I am about to go mad with frustration! Thanks.

Oh and she has eaten 2 fan belts as well! Although there is plenty of tension on the belt!

i got a 1992 90 not long ago and have suffered from non starting. check if there is anything drawing current from the battery when everything is off. ive had lots of wrong wiring of lights on mine from previous owners.

Im having problems at the moment with mine. my fan belt snapped so changed tht now found the my alternator is not charging. so i know what ur going through!!!

it s got to be worth checking alternator if your going through belts and fitted correctly check pulley alignment and bearings turn free,put a volt meter across battery ,engine off 12v ish engine running 13n-14v shows its charging

On mine someone had fitted a new alternator but forgot the washer between the pulley and the fan this allowed the fan to just skim the edge of the belt causing the belt to get thinner and need constant adjustment.
