Hi I have a Land Rover Discover 2.0 MPI the Electric starter Motor move but the motor of the car not move .
The only system to start the car is pushing it.

Where can be the problem? why the starter motor no engage?

Thanks in advance
L>

is it immobilised ?check the thin wire that goes to starter solenoid has 12volts when someone turns key to start ,if it does change starter if not check relay and ignition switch

First of all :welcome2:
Have you tried hitting hard it with a lump of wood? If it is spinning but not engaging, a quick shock often does the trick! And if that doesn't work ... hit it a bit harder!! :D

HI

I have a discovery and I get a problem.
The starter motor work I means you can hear the electric motor.
Anyway the starter motor no start the car or move any other parts.
I can start the car if I pushing and I can driver after. Not idea where can be the problem. Some one say to me possible is the ring gear.
ANY IDEAS?
thanks in advance

Some one say to me possible is the ring gear. That of hitting sounds to me like The Flintstones :D anyway can make a little test.

more likely starter ,take it off you can check ring gear then through hole while somone turns engine over ,but most likely starter motor, either isnt been thrown out enough or clutch has gone
