Started yesterday won't today

Hi Guys I need a little help getting the disco started. All was fine yesterday, started right on the button. Today have gone to do a little fettling and thought I would try and get the rear wiper working. Thought I would check the fuse first fuse 18 was fine. went to move it away from the wall to open the back door and lo and behold the glow plug indicator on the dash did not come on when turned the ignition. Have checked around fuse board and can only see 1 wire (red and green) loose but cannot see where it should go. Am not convinced that this is the correct wiring as this red and green wire is attached to a red wire with insulation tape. Any one got any ideas.

If it is turning over is there any smoke from the exhaust?

Check the stop solenoid on the fuel pump is getting a live feed both when the key is turned to the second position and when the key is turned to the 'crank' position.

Give the hand primer a couple of pumps to make sure the it is up to pressure too. If air gets into the fuel the fuel could find its way back down to the tank.
